A UFC fighter has been cut after suspicious betting activity before a fight this past Saturday.
Isaac Dulgarian has reportedly been cut by the UFC after a first-round submission loss to Yadier del Valle on Saturday’s Fight Night, according to Ariel Helwani of Uncrowned.
Dulgarian was the betting favorite going into the featherweight fight, but a lot of bets came in for del Valle and resulted in some sports books offering credits for those losing bets on Dulgarian.
Yadier del Valle fought to take the back of Dulgarian, eventually flattening the competitor and securing a rear-naked choke, which Dulgarian fought before tapping at 3:41 of the first round.
The UFC partnered with U.S. Integrity (now IC360) in 2023, designed to identify and analyze unusual wagering activity and address integrity concerns.
There was a significant controversy in November 2022 involving a fight between Shayilan Nuerdanbieke and Darrick Minner on a UFC Fight Night event. The lines swayed dramatically in favor of Nuerdanbieke, who ended up winning the fight with the belief that Minner entered the fight injured. Minner’s coach, James Krause, came under fire and had his license suspended. Krause had hosted a popular podcast and Discord channel offering betting advice.
The UFC and IC360 have yet to comment on the matter or the release of Isaac Dulgarian.
