Tessa Blanchard recently opened up about her TNA release.
TNA confirmed in a press release that Blanchard and Tommy Dreamer departed the company as part of a “workforce reduction.” Sami Callihan, who worked as an on-screen performer and an agent, also confirmed his departure from TNA. Fightful reported that Blanchard had requested and was granted her release.
Blanchard was on CMLL Informa and spoke about her departure. The 30-year-old said in Spanish that TNA told her to decide if she was a TNA wrestler or a CMLL wrestler. She added that she took time to think over the decision with her father and decided that her life is with CMLL, calling herself a “Mexican Gringa.” She wanted to focus her goals and dreams in Mexico and affirmed her commitment to CMLL.
Before the CMLL Informa appearance, Fightful had reported that it was CMLL that had asked her to decide between them and TNA. CMLL reportedly pays and books Blanchard more, which was why she requested her release.
