The first match for AEW’s second-ever Grand Slam: Mexico card has been confirmed.
AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher will defend against Speedball Mike Bailey as part of the promotion’s August 5 show from Arena Mexico in Mexico City, it was confirmed on Sunday night.
Bailey earned an opportunity against Fletcher at the company’s Redemption pay-per-view on Sunday night, prevailing in a six-way #1 contenders ladder match. Shortly after their win, Bailey called for his title matchup to go down in Mexico.

Two-time trios champ Bailey has yet to hold a singles title since joining AEW, although that could change in just over a week’s time in Mexico. He’ll be the third name to challenge Fletcher, who won his belt earlier this month by taking down Konosuke Takeshita.
Fletcher has successfully defended his title twice, including a 26-minute victory over Bandido ROH World Champion this weekend.
