Stardom closed out their year with news that the new Bushiroad property will have a presence at next week’s Wrestle Kingdom event at the Tokyo Dome.
The promotion announced on its year-end show Tuesday at Korakuen Hall that there will be a dark match ahead of the January 4th show leading into the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 14.
World of Stardom champion Mayu Iwatani will team with Wonder of Stardom champion Arisa Hoshiki to take on Hana Kimura and Giulia.
Iwatani has been World of Stardom champion since November, winning the title from the second time when she defeated Bea Priestley. Hoshiki became Wonder of Stardom champion this past May defeating Momo Watanabe after winning the Cinderella tournament back in April. Kimura, this past year’s 5 Star Grand Prix winner, has been a cast member on the current season of Terrace House and gaining outside exposure. Giulia recently joined Stardom after leaving the Ice Ribbon group and has been wrestling for over two years.
It will be the first match involving a female at the Tokyo Dome since Joanie Lauer faced Masahiro Chono in October 2002.
Stardom kicks off 2020 with a show from Shinkiba 1st Ring in Tokyo on January 2nd along with shows on January 3rd and 4th.
Earlier this year, the promotion was sold to a subsidiary of Bushiroad, the parent company of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
