Naito versus Zack Sabre Jr. in the finals.

Osaka-jō Hall played host to the finals of the 2022 New Japan Cup. Tetsuya Naito met Zack Sabre Jr. in the tourney finals and at the end of the night, it was Sabre Jr. getting his hand raised and being awarded with the trophy.

Naito kicked out of one of Zack’s penalty kicks so Sabre Jr. followed up with another ‘Zack Driver’ which secured him the win.

This is Zack’s second New Japan Cup win. He won the tournament back in 2018. In this year’s bracket, he defeated Ryohei Oiwa, DOUKI, Great-O-Khan, Will Ospreay and Shingo Takagi on the way to besting Naito in the finals.

NJPW’s home-base is scheduled to resume operations on April 3rd with the ‘Hyper Battle’ tour. April 1st is the date of the Lonestar Shootout NJPW STRONG taping in Dallas, Texas.
