Walker Stewart stated that he can finally say Charlton’s name.

It was in January that NJPW, AEW, CMLL, STARDOM and Ring of Honor co-presented the Wrestle Dynasty special at the Tokyo Dome.

The semi main event of the night was Kenny Omega versus Gabe Kidd. As Charlton was playing up the story of the match and discussing how Kidd was defending what New Japan Pro-Wrestling stands for, he began making comments like referring to AEW President Tony Khan as a ‘money mark.’ He also criticized what some of the former NJPW talent have done since joining AEW full-time.

It was then reported by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline that Charlton was placed on an ‘indefinite hiatus.’

As the 2/11 NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka show was wrapping up, lead English commentator Walker Stewart revealed that Charlton is going to be making his return to the desk at the 53rd Anniversary Event on March 6th. Stewart said he can finally say Charlton’s name again.

For The New Beginning in Osaka, Stewart started off calling the action solo, but was soon joined by Clark Connors for the remainder of the show.
