Liv Morgan might be out of the ring for a significant period of time after suffering what could best be described as a freak accident injury earlier this week.

Both Fightful Select and PWInsider are reporting that Morgan will need surgery for a shoulder injury she suffered during a match on Monday night against Kairi Sane.

Morgan’s appearance earlier this week on Raw against Sane only lasted moments before an unfortunate injury ended her night.

Morgan was visibly in pain after a trip takedown occurred just seconds into their match, causing her to roll out of the ring. Morgan wasn’t able to continue competing beyond that point, putting an abrupt end to the bout.

It’s unclear how long Morgan will specifically be out of action after her injury, which PWInsider wrote was a separated shoulder.

The injury will likely cause WWE to make changes to many of their current storylines involving Morgan and the Judgement Day as a whole.

Among the many ongoing feuds that Morgan played a role in was the return of Nikki Bella. A rivalry between Morgan and Bella started a little over a week ago, setting up a potential return match for the former Divas Champion at WWE’s second-ever all-women’s Evolution Premium Live Event (PLE) in a few weeks.

Morgan is also currently one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
