Tony D’Angelo will face former ally Stacks for the newly vacated NXT Heritage Cup Championship on Tuesday.
NXT General Manager Ava announced on Saturday that Noam Dar was vacating the title due to injury. She stated that Stacks would face an opponent to be named in a match for the trophy.
On Sunday, that opponent was revealed as Tony D’Angelo.
The news came in a social media post in which Luca Crusifino, who is D’Angelo’s lieutenant but also a former tag partner of Stacks, said he had spoken to Ava.
Crusifino said he wanted to prove his loyalty to D’Angelo and had confirmed the match.
You wanted me to prove my loyalty?
You don’t have to trust what I say, trust the move I just made. That’s loyalty.
