The event is likely to feature a live episode of Raw followed by a taping for Smackdown, which will air later that week on Christmas Night.
WWE presents double tapings infrequently throughout the year. Some, like tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Brooklyn, emerge due to travel logistics. In the case of the company’s upcoming taping in Washington, it’s so that talent and staff don’t have to work on Christmas night for Smackdown.
WWE is coming back to Washington, D.C. after a year away. Their last trip to the city occurred in December 2025, when John Cena had his retirement match as part of a Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast.
Tickets for the upcoming event are scheduled to go on sale Friday.
