Two matches added to NJPW Resurgence, Matt Rehwoldt to commentate

Two matches announced for NJPW Resurgence on August 14th and Matt Rehwoldt, the former 'Aiden English' will be on the call for the show

Several matches added to NJPW Resurgence and the guest commentator for the show has been revealed.

Come August 14th, New Japan Pro-Wrestling will run the L.A. Coliseum to present their Resurgence event with fans in attendance. It was previously announced that Jay White would be defending the NEVER Openweight Championship against David Finlay at Resurgence and two additional matches have been added to the lineup.

Alex Coughlin is going one-on-one with Karl Fredericks along with a six-man tag that will see Wheeler YUTA, Rocky Romero and Fred Rosser take on TJP, Ren Narita and Clark Connors. Joining Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov at the commentary desk for Resurgence is Matt Morris, also known as Matt Rehwoldt, formerly ‘Aiden English’ in WWE.

This weekend, New Japan’s Wrestle Grand Slam show at the Tokyo Dome is taking place. Here’s the updated match card for that show:

  • Kickoff Match: KOPW Trophy — New Japan Ranbo (Handcuffs Stipulation): Toru Yano, competitors TBA
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships: Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo (c) vs. Rocky Romero & Ryusuke Taguchi
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: El Desperado (c) vs. Robbie Eagles
  • Jeff Cobb vs. Kazuchika Okada
  • IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships: Tetsuya Naito & SANADA (c) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi
  • IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Shingo Takagi (c) vs. Kota Ibushi
