WWE NXT notes: Syfy, Cole vs. Reed, Hit Row brawls with Legado, Kross/Regal

Matches announced for the 7/27 NXT on Syfy, Legado Del Fantasma and Hit Row come to blows and Karrion Kross ambushes William Regal

Due to the Olympics, NXT has to move their weekly USA Network show to Syfy for the 7/27 and 8/3 episodes.

Several matches were added to the lineup for the 7/27 Syfy show and the main event is Adam Cole versus Bronson Reed. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan are set to take on Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. The NXT Breakout Tournament is continuing as Carmelo Hayes goes one-on-one with Josh Briggs.

On the 7/20 NXT, Odyssey Jones advanced in the Breakout tournament by defeating Andre Chase.

To kick off NXT, Samoa Joe came down to the ring and called out NXT Champion Karrion Kross. William Regal alerted Joe that he should not be taking matters into his own hands following Kross choking out Joe on last week’s show. Throughout the night, Regal reiterated to Joe to not put his hands on Kross. The conclusion of NXT saw Joe hit the ring again to call out Kross. The NXT Champion appeared on the video board alongside a beaten down William Regal.

The final match on the 7/20 NXT was Raquel Gonzalez defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Xia Li. There was a point towards the end of the match when Xia was hurt and had to be checked on by the ringside medical staff. Once they cleared Xia to go, Raquel immediately hit her finisher and the match was over.

The two stables of Hit Row (Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, Briana Brandy, Ashante Thee Adonis & A.J. Francis) brawled with Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde). The focus of the brawl was Escobar and Scott, who is the reigning North American Champion.

Drake Maverick scored a win over Million Dollar Champion L.A. Knight. After his win, Maverick was ambushed by Knight.

Jessi Kamea is officially aligned with Franky Monet. Both Robert Stone and Mandy Rose were ringside for Monet’s match.

During tonight’s show, it was announced that NXT TakeOver 36 is scheduled for August 22nd. That event is one day after SummerSlam.
