Hiroshi Tanahashi re-signs with New Japan Pro-Wrestling

'The Ace' Hiroshi Tanahashi has renewed his contract with New Japan and will be with the company for the foreseeable future

Tanahashi signs a new deal with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Since graduating from the New Japan dojo in the late 1990s, Hiroshi Tanahashi has been with the company and as of this writing, he is the reigning IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion. Tanahashi will be with New Japan for the foreseeable future as he shared on social media that he has re-signed with the company.

I have renewed my player contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling. I will do my best.

Tanahashi has won every active championship in New Japan. He is the company’s fourth Triple Crown Champion and the second NJPW Grand Slam Champion.

The 45-year-old Tanahashi was in action for all three nights of Wrestle Kingdom 16. On night three at the NJPW versus NOAH show, he and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada defeated Keiji Muto and Kaito Kiyomiya.

New Japan is resuming shows on January 20th as a part of their ‘Golden Series’ tour. On February 19th, Tanahashi is defending the U.S. Heavyweight Title against SANADA.
