Friday Night SmackDown featured the return of Brock Lesnar in his first appearance since losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.

In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Riddle to retain the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship after Riddle leaped off the middle rope and was hit with a spear in mid-air.

After Reigns addressed the crowd and instructed them to acknowledge him, Reigns went to leave as Lesnar came out and went face-to-face with Reigns inside the ring. Lesnar offered his hand to Reigns but it was a ploy and Lesnar hit him with the F-5 before delivering the same maneuver to The Usos.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were both added to the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on Saturday, July 2nd. After last week’s match was thrown out between the two, Adam Pearce added both men to the match and joined Seth Rollins.

In the women’s ladder match, Raquel Rodriguez qualified after winning Shayna Baszler on Friday’s show. Rodriguez joins Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, and Liv Morgan.
