Alex Coughlin’s return to action will be delayed after initially being listed for the Burning Spirit tour.

New Japan Pro Wrestling had announced Coughlin would be back on the tour that begins September 2nd. The performer has been out of action since July with a left calf injury.

On Tuesday night, the promotion posted an update regarding Coughlin, who will be replaced by The DKC on the tour:

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Alex Coughlin, who was announced this week for the Burning Spirit tour starting September 2 in Yokohama, will miss action due to a left leg injury.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Coughlin wrestle and appreciate your understanding.

Coughlin will be replaced in each of his matches on the tour by the LA Dojo’s The DKC. NJPW joins fans in wishing Coughlin a full, speedy recovery.

Coughlin posted a comment noting it was the same injury he’s been dealing with and not a new one.
