Finlay holds Okada in high regards.

This coming weekend, New Japan Pro-Wrestling is kicking off their 2023 G1 Climax tournament. There are going to be four blocks with eight wrestlers each

Among those in block C is David Finlay. He was the latest talent who’s pre-G1 interview was pushed out by NJPW1972.com. Although Finlay is not in the same block as Kazuchika Okada, he shared his thoughts about him and feels the seven-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is the greatest Japanese wrestler of all time.

I haven’t thought about it too much, but I can see (Kazuchika) Okada making it out the block. I like the new edge he’s had this year, and I’ll be honest, I genuinely think that Okada is the best wrestler in Japanese history. So how good would it be for the greatest leader in BULLET CLUB history to beat the greatest wrestler in Japanese history? That sounds like money to me.

Finlay is the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion and is heading BULLET CLUB. Fellow members of the group, Alex Coughlin, Gabriel Kidd, Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney captured championships at NJPW STRONG Independence Day.
