Grudge Match

Rampage kicked off with a Grudge Match between Darby Alliln and Brian Cage. Darby was aiming to avenge the attack on Nick Wayne by Cage’s cohorts in the Mogul Embassy. Brian Cage muscled the much smaller Darby Allin around the ring including through the timekeeper’s table.

Darby was able to turn the momentum around by taking off his belt to escape Cage and hit a Coffin Drop on Cage who was hanging off the edge of the ring apron.

Prince Nana distracted the referee allowing Cage to capitalize and hit a brutal flying spin.

Darby caught Cage with a surprise roll-up for the victory but Luchasaurus appeared and spiked Darby with Christian Cage looking on and a young girl in the crowd cried.

Britt the Big Bad Bully

Renee Paquette interview Dr. Britt Baker and asked her about facing The Bunny for a chance to go to All In. Baker said she respected The Bunny but she has to be the big bad bully and rain on Bunny’s comeback parade.

Eddie Update

A video was shown with Eddie Kingston updating the AEW fans about how he was doing in the G1. He said it was the most challenging thing he’s ever had to do but being the NJPW Strong Openweight Champion means the world to him and he would defend his title in Japan or on Dynamite, Rampage, or Collision.

International Championship

Johnny TV was introduced by Harley Cameron who sang his theme song live. JTV was accompanied by the rest of QTV.

Shockingly, QTV attempted to interfere but was caught by Referee Bryce Remsburg who tossed them all out.

Suddenly, Wheeler Yuta appeared momentarily distracting Cassidy and nearly causing him to lose his title. Remsburg ejected Yuta as well but Johnny TV was able to take control and dominate Orange through the picture-in-picture break. When we returned from break, it was revealed that Wheeler Yuta’s ejection was only as far as the commentary booth as he had joined Excalibur, Schiavone, and Jericho. Yuta was running down Cassidy’s “personal philosophies” and talked about how he’s grown so much since being a part of the Best Friends thanks to the BCC. Meanwhile, in the ring, Cassidy defeated Johnny TV to hit 19-0 in 2023. After the match, Wheeler Yuta challenged Orange Cassidy to a title match next week in Nashville.

Aussie Open & the ROH Tag Team Titles

A video package highlighting the history of the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships aired reinforcing their importance.

Aussie Open were out next to face off against The Outrunners. For some reason (an editing error?) no bell rang to start the match but it was underway with Aussie Open dominating. AO won with The Coriolis in just over two minutes. Mark Davis got on the mic and insulted Adam Cole & MJF as a tag team and the Columbus crowd responded with a “double clothesline” chant. Aussie Open accepted Cole & MJF’s ROH Tag Team Championship challenge for the All In Zero Hour.

Leatherface & Jeff Jarrett?

Jeff Jarrett announced that he landed a sponsorship for AEW with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game and he would face Jeff Hardy next week on Dynamite in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch. Makes perfect sense to me!

It’s Time for the Main Event

Saraya took on Skye Blue for a spot in the four-way match for the AEW Women’s Championship at All In. Skye Blue may have had the match won but The Outcasts got involved and Ruby Soho sprayed Blue in the face with Green spray paint allowing Saraya to hit the Good Night (fka Rampaige) for the victory. The show went off the air with The Outcasts triple-teaming Skye Blue with no one coming to her aid.

Announced for Dynamite “Fight for the Fallen” Next Week in Nashville:

  • International Championship: Orange Cassidy vs. Wheeler Yuta
  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch: Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy
  • Darby Allin & Nick Wayne vs. Gates of Agony
  • Special Note: Tony Khan announced that Fight for the Fallen was moved up to next week and proceeds would go to help the Maui Foodbank and those affected by the Maui wildfires.

AEW Rampage Results:

  • Darby Allin over Brian Cage in 10:44
  • International Championship: Orange Cassidy over Johnny TV in 9:34
  • Aussie Open over The Outrunners in 2:13
  • Saraya over Skye Blue in 9:23
