Olympic gold medalist and WWE performer Gable Steveson has withdrawn from this month’s Senior World Championships.

USA Wrestling has been notified that the 2020 gold medalist has withdrawn from this month’s tournament in Belgrade, Serbia where Steveson was set to compete in the heavyweight division.

After winning gold in the summer of 2021 in Tokyo, Japan, Steveson signed with WWE and made his in-ring debut on the Great American Bash episode of NXT on July 30 against Baron Corbin.

Steveson returned to amateur wrestling earlier this year when he competed and won the U.S. Open this past April and wrestled again at Final X in June.

Steveson will be replaced by heavyweight wrestler Mason Parris in Serbia this month.
