Allin refers to Huber as ‘the guy.’

Going into AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Darby Allin sat down with Josh Martinez to record an episode of the Superstar Crossover podcast.

Along the way, Allin was asked if there’s someone he always wanted to wrestle but did not get the chance to. He named the late Jon Huber a.k.a. Brodie Lee/Luke Harper. He remembers Huber arriving to AEW. Allin went to AEW President Tony Khan and told him he needs to wrestle Huber.

Brodie Lee, by far (is someone I always wanted to work with that I did not get the chance to). When he first came to AEW, I went up to Tony Khan, I was like, ‘I need to wrestle that guy!’ It just never fit. Storyline-wise, it never fit and it’s very unfortunate of the passing of him. But that was the guy. I don’t know why. It just felt like there was something we could have done really, really special.

Huber passed away in December 2020. There was a tribute show in his memory held on Dynamite

Tony Khan stated that if an AEW Hall of Fame existed, Brodie Lee is one of the names that comes to mind for the honor.
