‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey has arrived to AEW.
An Eliminator tournament was set up to determine who will challenge Kenny Omega for his AEW International Championship at the Dynasty pay-per-view.
Two of the tournament bouts took place on the 3/12 Dynamite and it was advertised as The Beast Mortos versus a mystery opponent. The mystery name was revealed to be new signee ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey.
Bailey emerged victorious to advance in the Eliminator and sharing his thoughts about Bailey’s arrival was fellow AEW talent Ricochet. He guest appeared on The Mark Hoke Show and expressed that he’s excited about Bailey being in the company.
Yes, I’m very excited. Obviously, I’ve known ‘Speedball’ for a long — I don’t even know how long. A long time now. I remember when he first started debuting and stuff on the independent scene. So I’m very aware of Mike Bailey as well… But yeah, it’s great to have Mike Bailey. You know, new blood on the roster. A new guy that I am gonna be able to just smack in his mouth. A new guy that I’m gonna be able to just basically dog walk and not have to worry about. But, for the company, it’s great. I mean, for me, I’m not really too worried but for the company, it’s great.
The next two first round matches are taking place on the 3/15 Collision. A review of that show will be available here on POST Wrestling.
