Lynch addresses the comparison to Hulk Hogan.
It was advertised that Bayley and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria would be challenging Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 41. On night one of the two-night event, Bayley was attacked backstage and Valkyria had to find a new partner.
This led to the return of Becky Lynch and she and Valkyria went on to become Women’s Tag Team Champions. They dropped the titles on the Raw after WrestleMania and then Lynch attacked Valkyria. She would go on to admit that she is the person who took Bayley out.
Lynch was the most recent guest to appear on Raw Recap with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. As the conversation went on, she reacted to the ‘Becky Hogan’ memes, which compare her to Hulk Hogan and is a reference to the influence Hogan may have had over decisions about the direction of his and other wrestlers’ careers. Lynch said the following:
I wear the scars of what I’ve done on my body. I wear them. I wear them with pride because of all I’ve given back and these people go around, they compare me to this scummy person on earth. After everything I’ve done. After everything that I’ve done for them, and I’m the bad guy? I’m supposed to just sit here and take it? I’m supposed to just go, oh, oh… I’m sorry. Even though I didn’t do anything wrong. I broke through glass ceilings. I changed the game.
Lynch and Valkyria are set to clash at the Backlash Premium Live Event with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.
