Darby Allin’s wild tour as AEW World Champion is scheduled to continue next Wednesday with a match against Kazuchika Okada.
If Allin can get past PAC on Saturday’s Fairway to Hell TV special, he will defend his title once again when he meets Okada as part of an AEW Dynamite episode from Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Allin has defended his title on a weekly basis since taking down MJF in April. He has already gotten past Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, and most recently, TNT Champion Kevin Knight, to keep his run alive.
After trying to overcome PAC this weekend, Allin will look to take down yet another titleholder when he faces International Champion Okada in the upcoming booking.
It’s also expected that next week’s episode could feature a contract signing between Allin and MJF for a future title matchup. MJF has chased down Allin for a title rematch, but would only be granted the opportunity if he put something on the line. Allin laid out the challenge this week for MJF to put his hair on the line against Allin’s belt. Whether that will be made official, we’ll find out in a little under a week.
Along with the world title matchup, a hectic 10-man tag match has been booked for next week’s Dynamite.
The Young Bucks will team with Cope & Cage and Orange Cassidy to face FTR, The Dogs, and Tommaso Ciampa. The match will help preview an upcoming Double or Nothing tag title matchup between FTR and Cope & Cage.
