Friday Night SmackDown ranked second on Friday for the post-SummerSlam episode with a match involving John Cena.

The August 8 episode in Montreal averaged 1,557,000 viewers and 644,000 viewers (0.48) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network.

It ranked second among all television programs in the demo on Friday behind the NFL preseason game between the Cleveland Browns and the Carolina Panthers.

The show increased by one percent in overall viewership and grew by four percent in the demo from last week’s episode. In the 18-49 demo, females grew by nine percent this week while males remained equal.

The show averaged a 0.48 in the 18-49 demo and equaled the number SmackDown drew two weeks ago for the Hulk Hogan tribute and equalling their highest mark in that demo since April 25.

John Cena had a rare television match, teaming with Cody Rhodes against Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre in the main event at the Bell Centre.
