Shinsuke Nakamura is Intercontinental Champion once again.

The first match on tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Oklahoma saw ‘King’ Shinsuke Nakamura challenging Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship. Although Crews had Commander Azeez at ringside, Nakamura was able to score the win and become WWE Intercontinental Champion for the second time in his career.

Rick Boogs was banned from ringside by the referee prior to the match starting. The final sequence of the match saw Nakamura hit Crews with an ‘Exploder Suplex’ and then followed up with the ‘Kinshasa’ to win the title.

Apollo Crews first captured the I.C. Title at WrestleMania 37 where he defeated Big E. The last time Nakamura won the title was during the Summer of 2019 when he won it at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
