Florida-based Major League Wrestling (MLW) will be represented as part of NJPW and CMLL’s annual lucha showcase later this month, Fantastica Mania.
The two final nights of Fantastica Mania – the only cards on the tour that are expected to air live on NJPW World – will feature matchups with MLW’s tag titles and middleweight belt on the line.
Night 7 of the tour will see MLW World Tag Team Champions CozyMAX (NJPW’s Satoshi Kojima and CMLL’s OKUMURA) defend their titles against the duo of Rugido and Magnus. The tag duo will be making their first appearance since becoming champs late last year, dethroning Ikuro Kwon and Minoru Suzuki.
Later in the evening, a singles bout between Templario and Volador Jr. will close out the show from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The following night, the show will be headlined by a matchup featuring long-standing MLW World Middleweight Champion Mistico and Averno.
Mistico has been a dominant force in MLW, holding their middleweight belt for nearly a year. He has defended the title seven times over the past 342 days, including a pair of appearances on CMLL cards in Mexico. His last title outing saw him beat Barbaro Cavernario in a Two Out of Three Falls match last month at MLW Reloaded.
Averno, the current CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion and World Trios Champion alongside Euforia and Mephisto, will look to add another belt to his collection when he appears in Japan.
