The expected implosion of the United Empire leadership occurred at Power Struggle, setting up another match for Wrestle Kingdom.

Will Ospreay and Callum Newman failed to win the IWGP tag team titles from the Knockout Bros. of OSKAR & Yuto-Ice.

The match consisted of Ospreay and Newman being on separate pages, uniting midway through, and then falling apart at the seams at the conclusion. Ospreay was furious at the United Empire’s tactics, struck Zane Jay on the apron, causing Newman to swing a chair at his partner. Ospreay stopped Newman and dropped his teammate.

Minutes later, Ospreay was attempting a Storm Breaker on OSKAR when Newman swung a chair. Ospreay ducked, and he struck OSKAR, causing a disqualification after more than eighteen minutes.

A pull-apart between the leaders of United Empire followed, and Newman challenged his mentor to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 21 on January 4.

It will mark Ospreay’s first match at Wrestle Kingdom since 2024.
