The teased collaboration between Rey Mysterio and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has been revealed.

It was shown on Monday’s episode of Raw that active wrestler and current AAA manager Mysterio had a proposition for Reigns. Now, two days later, the deal they carved out has been made official.

Reigns will defend his world title as part of the September 14 edition of Monday Night Raw, the first time in over 15 years that the show will be live from Mexico City, Mexico. His opponent will be determined through a tournament, Mysterio announced, featuring prominent luchadors from WWE’s main roster and AAA brand.

The tournament will begin on this Monday’s upcoming episode of Raw from Norfolk, Virginia, Mysterio said in the latest reveal. The official field of competitors hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

WWE’s visit to Mexico City will come just a few days before AAA presents TripleMania XXXIV. The event will take place across two nights: A September 11 card from Las Vegas, then a September 13 lineup in Mexico City.

The upcoming matchup is the first time Reigns is expected to defend his title on TV since capturing it off CM Punk at Wrestlemania. He has taken down Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins in the months that followed.
