WWE NXT programming will begin streaming live through the ESPN app for ESPN Unlimited subscribers on August 4.
The date was confirmed on Tuesday in a joint announcement from The CW Network and ESPN. The launch will give US viewers with an ESPN Unlimited subscription another way to watch weekly NXT episodes and the brand’s premium live events.
NXT will continue to air on The CW’s linear network. Its inclusion on ESPN Unlimited is an additional streaming option rather than a change to the existing television arrangement.
The partnership was first announced in April, shortly after The CW acquired the US broadcast rights to NXT premium live events.
The service will launch with the August 4 episode of NXT at 8 pm ET. ESPN’s announcement also confirmed that the NXT Heatwave premium live event will stream through the app on Sunday, August 30 at 3 pm ET.
Other CW Sports properties available through the arrangement include NASCAR and college football and basketball from the ACC, Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences.
